AetherProxy Privacy Policy

AetherProxy ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and protected when you use our Android application.
1. Data Handled by the Application
AetherProxy is designed with a strict privacy-first architecture:
- Local Storage Only: All proxy profiles, server addresses, port numbers, usernames, and user preferences are stored exclusively on your device.
- Hardware Keystore Encryption: Proxy passwords are encrypted using the Android Keystore system with AES-256-GCM. We do not transmit or store your passwords on any external server.
- No Tracking & No Ads: The application does not contain advertising SDKs, behavioral trackers, or analytics SDKs that log user activities.
2. Android VpnService & Traffic Routing
AetherProxy uses the Android VpnService API solely to route network traffic from your device through your configured SOCKS5 or HTTP CONNECT upstream proxy server:
- The VPN tunnel operates locally on your device to forward packets to your chosen proxy endpoint.
- Traffic is never routed through our own servers; we do not own, operate, or intercept any proxy server traffic.
- Non-HTTPS traffic and plain SOCKS5 authentication may travel without transport encryption between your device and the proxy server. You should only connect to proxy providers you trust.
- Per-App routing settings allow you to choose which specific applications route their traffic through the tunnel.
3. Connection Diagnostics & Third-Party Queries
To verify proxy connectivity, display connection status, and detect potential DNS leaks, AetherProxy performs direct diagnostic queries through your active proxy connection to public endpoints (such as Cloudflare and ipwho.is). These requests receive only the exit IP address of your configured proxy and standard HTTP metadata necessary to return IP geolocation and DNS resolver details.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Because AetherProxy does not maintain user accounts, databases, or cloud servers, we do not retain your personal data. You can delete all proxy profiles and cached logs directly within the app, or permanently remove all data by clearing app storage or uninstalling the application.
5. Children's Privacy
Our application is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
